What's in a (Brand) Name?

A little behind-the-scenes look at my life lately today.

I’ve spent a lot of time lately trying to put a name tag on what I do and who I am as an athlete and human:

Annie, Anne, Strength Coach, (somewhat rebellious) Yogi, Strong First, Z Health Practitioner, Body Positive Advocate, In recovery, Athlete, Trainer, Reluctant but Earnest Business Owner, Wife, Dog mom ….

We plaster these “Hello! My name is…” stickers all over ourselves online and in person every day. 

One for Instagram (#doglover #strongfirst) another for Facebook business page (#coach #bodypositivewarrior) another for our personal Facebook page (#whendoesvacationstart) another for our clients (#competentandcompassionate) and while those are all aspects and parts of our personality and fit into one beautiful brand heading, it can be a lot to manage and present effectively.

I’m currently (and possibly to the chagrin of strategic online marketing individuals) in the process of trying to take off all those name tags and hashtags so that the people I love aren’t confronted with my titles or assumptions. The question, I suppose, is:

What makes you light up?

Are you showing that?

Or are you covering up your heart with name tags?
